Prosecutor Makes Serious Error in Accident Related Death

Recently, Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper admitted to making an error. Allegedly, the prosecutor filed murder and related criminal charges last week against a widow in Farmington Hills following the death of her husband.

Charges were filed last Tuesday against 46 year old Laura Johnson after her husband died during a boating accident. Cooper recently told a news source that she has "egg" on her face after dropping the charges against the widow.

Copper had Johnson released from jail 20 minutes after a medical examiner ruled that her husband, Lloyd Johnson, died due to an unhealed wound from a boating accident. The medical examiner said the death was "an act of contrition."

Defending herself, Cooper said it is not unusual to obtain a warrant without a completed autopsy and she has plans to have experts review the autopsy results and hospital records.
