It is being reported by WXYZ that Sergeant Malkia Miller has been charged with embezzling money from the "flower fund" of her department. The flower fund is supposed to provide comfort for officers and their families by purchasing flowers when an officer or close family members dies. Yesterday, Miller was arraigned in the 36th District Court on 2 felony counts of embezzlement as well as one felony count of using a computer to commit a felony. It is being reported that authorities believe the sergeant stole around $14,000.

If you are convicted of embezzling money, you could face very serious punishments which could include jail or prison time, restitution, community service, fines and more. Additionally, if you are accustomed to having employment with a high level of financial responsibility, you could find yourself unable to hold those types of positions again with this type of conviction on your record.
