Elena Anne Ford for Suspicion of DUI

After hosting a birthday party for her mother, Ford heiress Elena Anne Ford was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. To make matters worse, her 11-year-old son was in the car when she was arrested.

Although Ford, 44, was cooperative with the officers, she failed all of the field sobriety tests they administered. They also discovered that her blood-alcohol level was double that of the legal limit. The officers handcuffed Ford and brought her to the Ferndale Police lockup. She was soon released on a $500 bond to her attorney, Todd Flood.

Not only does she have to worry about the DUI charge, but the Michigan Department of Human Services in Oakland County has been alerted about the incident. Ford has four children, but has no prior driving offenses, which should bode well should the department decide to investigate her case further.

Ford now faces charges of driving while intoxicated and child endangerment, which itself is a first-time misdemeanor offense. Her pretrial hearing has been set for April 28 at 11 a.m.
