Woman Injured In Hit And Run, Car Found At Airport

At approximately 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Emma Plair of Grand Rapids, was reportedly struck by a car as she was attempting to cross Eastern Avenue SE at its intersection with Franklin in her motorized wheel chair. The person who struck Plair drove away. Police later found the white, four-door Mazda with an Illinois license plate at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport after it was returned to the car rental. Plair, 67, was alert at the scene and was taken to Butterworth Hospital. It is reported that she suffered a severely fractured right leg and head injuries.
