In Montgomery County, local police officers say that they have finally made an arrest in a rape case that is over 26 years old. Police were able to apprehend a suspect after a DNA profile matched a Michigan area man to the sex crime.
On Sunday, police arrested Hubert Allan Marlin. He was formally charged with assault with intent to maim as well as rape.
On October 13, 1984, police officers say that 53-year-old Marlin beat and raped a woman. Prior to the incident, the woman had been walking home from her job which was at the Montgomery Mall.
The sex crime case was reopened by police in April 2010 and evidence collected from the crime scene went through a forensic examination. This examination revealed a DNA profile that linked Marlin to the incident said police.
