Tragic Car Crash Becomes Double Tragedy

Cody Olmstead of North Branch was driving southbound on Booth Road in Deerfield Township when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of North Branch Road. As a result, he crashed into a vehicle driven by Morgan Dingus who was driving westbound on North Branch. The crash killed 16-year-old Morgan and she was pronounced dead at the scene. 18-year-old Olmstead was in critical condition but later died at Hurley Medical Center yesterday afternoon. It is being reported that police believe alcohol to be involved in the fatal crash.
