18-Month-Old Hit by Car after Running Out Into Road

In the state of Michigan, police officers are reviewing the circumstances surrounding a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian accident took place on Wednesday around 5:40 p.m. after a driver struck an 18-month-old boy on Sheridan Line Road. Police later told reporters that the boy sustained serious injuries, but is expected to live. The driver, a 49-year-old man from Croswell, had been traveling westbound when the toddler ran into the road.

At this time, officers say that the driver was not speeding and they do not believe he was under the influence of alcohol during the collision.
