Former Miss USA Sentenced for DUI Offense in Michigan

This week, national news sources say that former Miss USA Rima Fakih received her sentence for driving under the influence (DUI). A judge decided to give Fakih six months of probation, $600 in fines, and twenty hours of mandatory community service for drunk driving. The former beauty queen must also attend alcohol safety and impact classes as part of her sentence. Just last month, 26-year-old Fakih pleaded no contest to her DUI charges after being arrested in the state of Michigan.

In December 2011, Fakih was placed under arrest after a police officer saw her changing lanes without signaling and speeding. The officer pulled her over and she took a breath test. Her results were 0.12% - well above the state's legal limit of 0.08%. As you can see, even a first-time DUI offense can result in serious legal penalties. For this reason, if you've been charged with driving under the influence, enlist the help of a Michigan criminal defense lawyer from our office by contacting Freedman & Freedman to schedule an initial consultation.
