Last 9/11 Wrongful Death Case Settled

A total of 95 families filed wrongful death lawsuits for the 9/11 attacks, the last of which was settled last month in court.

According to the court documents filed in a Manhattan federal court, the family of a professional hockey scout decided to drop their case last minute. However, this does not mean that they were not rewarded monetarily. The details of their agreement with the airlines they are suing, as well as the airlines' security firm, will not be shared with the public.

It is known, however, that the rest of the 95 families settled for a total of $500 million. Thousands more who were injured took claim to their funds from the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund worth $7 billion. The last family decided that just filing suit against the two defendants was enough damage in itself and that a lengthy court procedure was not necessary to achieve its goal.
