On Tuesday evening, officers reported that a 16-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition after a major car accident that took place on US-23 in Ann Arbor Township. The accident was confirmed with a press release from the Michigan State Police.
Authorities say that the teenager was ejected from the vehicle she was riding in when it traveled off the road at approximately 5:40 PM. The vehicle then overturned and hit several trees. Following the collision five people were hospitalized and police began to investigate. Officers say it is not clear what caused the driver to lose control of the car.
Victims involved in the car accident were taken to either St. Joseph Hospital, University of Michigan Hospital or Mercy Hospital to receive medical treatment. The statement released by police did not indicate where the victims lived or their specific ages.
