Man Injured When Balcony Railing Gives Way

Last week, an Ypsilanti Township man was hospitalized when the railing of his second-floor apartment balcony at the Bryn Maw Apartments gave way causing him to fall 10 feet to the ground. The man was reportedly shaking out a rug when a 4-foot section of railing gave way causing him to fall. It has been reported that the decks of balconies had been replaced on the majority of the units and that the railing were to be replaced sometime in the future. As a result of the fall, the complex's manager indicated all of the railings would be inspected that day.
