Two Michigan men were apprehended last week thanks to the hard work of the Detective Bureau and Citizen Assistance Responders Division (CARS). Together these men are responsible for 20 burglaries in Monroe County. Both men are 38 years old. one is from Woodhaven and the other lives in Romulus.

Police are withholding their names until their arraignment in Monroe County District Court.

According to police the suspect from Romulus confessed to the burglaries that happened in Dundee, Milan, Summerfield and Exeter Townships. They primarily targeted pole barns and detached garages that held power tools and generators.

Investigators caught a break when a Monroe County sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description generated by the department. When they examined it officers found stolen goods stored in that vehicle. The two men are also believed to be connected to robberies that have been reported in Lenawee, Washtenaw, Wayne and even Lansing, Mich. They are being held at the Monroe County Jail on various theft crimes.
