Man Requires Surgery After Dog Attack

It is being reported out of Lansing that an employee of a lawn care company was attacked when on a service call. At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Monday, the man was attempting to treat a lawn in Parma Township when a 60 lb. chow-Labrador mix ran out of the residence and attacked. The man was able to drive himself to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing where he required surgery to treat his injuries including severe lacerations and more than 16 puncture wounds. The dog was seized and placed under quarantine at the Jackson County Animal Shelter. Officers have indicated that the dog was up-to-date on its rabies vaccination.

Being the victim of a dog bite or any type of animal attack is not only frightening, but it leaves a victim at risk of facing permanent scarring or disfigurement. Depending upon the size of the dog and the size, weight and strength of the victim, a dog can cause serious injuries or even death. Treatment for any dog bite injury may be very expensive. This is one of the main reasons it is so crucial to talk to a lawyer about your case and recovering compensation.
