Rochester Hills Pedestrian Killed Crossing Street In Dark And Rain

A 56-year-old Rochester Hills man was killed Wednesday night when he was trying to cross Auburn Road in Rochester Hills and was hit by a car. The Oakland County Sheriff's Department said alcohol may have been a factor in the car accident as the man, who police were not naming, tried to cross at 7:09 p.m. in the dark and rain just west of Midvale.

He was hit by a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by an 18-year-old Rochester Hills resident. Both the driver and the passenger were treated and released at the scene, according to the Sherriff's office. The injured man died at 9:40 p.m. at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac.
